25th Anniversary at the Food Bank

April 27, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Wanting to have a community outreach program that showed the Houston community the selfless service of HAMC volunteers (regardless of any direct ties to Texas A&M and/or its graduates), William V. Wade ’73 started the Houston Aggie Volunteers in 1995.  The Houston Aggie Volunteers do not exist to raise money, but rather emphasize assistance with physical efforts through labor and time. While the bulk of the Houston Aggie Volunteers’ work over the years has been devoted to providing manpower to the Houston Food Bank (and to a lesser extent to Habitat for Humanity and the MD Anderson Cancer Center’s annual Christmas Card Project), our volunteers have also donated many hours of community service to other charities working to benefit the people of Houston.
To commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the Houston Aggie Volunteers, the Houston A&M Club is taking over the Houston Food Bank.  On Saturday, 27 April 2019, from 1-4 pm, the HAV will “OWN” the ENTIRE Food Bank.  We are not providing just some volunteers, we’re providing all the volunteers!  Please sign up now to help us reach our 25th Anniversary goal of 250 Aggies.  Volunteers are not limited to Aggies, so bring your friends and family. Kids over 6 years of age with adult supervision are welcome. Clothing restrictions are primarily limited to no open-toed shoes or flip-flops.
Please RSVP directly to Jim Thorpe at thorpejim@comcast.net by April 24th. Please send name(s), age, class and which local Aggie organization you are affiliated.
